On one side, China and South Korea are cracking down on creators who speak “without expertise,” while platforms like TikTok and X are rolling out new controls over AI, encrypted chats, and disappearing messages.
On the other, brands are getting wonderfully unhinged, from baking paper that reveals discounts only when you heat it, to Heinz turning its ketchup packet into a suitcase, to Taco Bell literally crafting a leather taco holster.
In other words: platforms keep tightening their grip, and brands keep loosening theirs.
