Hi friend 👋🏼 and welcome to this week’s edition of “the dump.”
I’m very excited because on of my favorite platforms just added one of my favorite features, or rather a feature that helps measuring the impact of one of my favorite things I do on social: commenting! (that’s LinkedIn btw, more on that below)
There’s also some very interesting and exciting news from TikTok (will we finally get a decent desktop experience?) and Instagram who is exploring a true TikTok competitor…
You may not be as excited as I am yet, but you will be, I know it. đź«
Let’s go!

It’s not you, it’s your platform
Your newsletter content is top-notch. Your social media game is on point. Your aspirations are through the roof. Yet you’re stuck on level one.
We’ve got bad news (and then really good news): your newsletter platform stinks. And beehiiv can get you where you want to be.
Most newsletter platforms leave the growth and monetization aspects of content creation to the creator. But that’s like trying to drive a car with no wheels.
Beehiiv’s platform is built for growth, so you can scale at the speed your content deserves with features like paid subscriptions, referral programs, and an ad network that connects you with global brands like Netflix and Nike.
It’s time to ask yourself: if your newsletter platform isn’t doing enough for you, what are you going to do about it?
🧮 LinkedIn rolled out impression counts on comments
The new insight allows users to see how many people were reached with their activity. Important to note that the count is non-unique and the user’s own views are counted toward the impression count.
đź“« Instagram is testing AI-based tasks based on DMs
The new feature would allow users to create a task within its DM options that enables the user to initiate a simple action based on the content of a message.
🖥️ TikTok is revamping its desktop platform to rival YouTube
he social media platform rolled out several new features to accompany the expansion, including a new Explore page and a way to organize videos into custom categories.
📼 Instagram is be exploring a separate Reels app
The app would be more of a direct replica of TikTok, opening to a full-screen, scrolling display of short-form videos. Longer Reels would also play a key consideration in the new app.
🗣️ Grok has a voice (mode) now
xAI’s latest update to the AI model gives Grok voice conversation mode to X Premium+ or SuperGrok subscribers. The update comes after downloads of the standalone Grok app have risen 10x in the week following the Grok 3 launch.
🤝 LinkedIn is testing an alternate Connections-only update feed
The new feature gives users an option to switch to a separate tab of a feed of only updates from people in their first degree network.
